Students have learned the characteristics of life and should be able to take any new "thing" and use this criteria to see if the new "thing" is a living organism. Now students are working on the building blocks of life. Our lab for this chapter is the qualitative analysis of cottage cheese. We are going to test the curds and whey for reducing sugars, proteins, and starch. The students will be communicate their results by writing a lab report.
